"The Wonder Begins"

Wonder Girls is a newly-formed Korean girl group produced by well-known singer-songwriter, Park Jin Young. The group is signed to his talent agency, JYP Entertainment.

DEBUT, YEAR 2007
The members of Wonder Girls were selected through auditions and Park Ye Eun was the last member to be added.
The group debuted on 11 February 2007 at the M! Countdown, performing the hip-hop song "Irony", which was from their debut mini-album, The Wonder Begins. Throughout 2007, the group has experienced various health problems.

On 25 June, member Ahn So Hee was sidelined for a month after tearing a knee ligament during the filming of "Some Like It Hot" when she fall off from a motorcycle. In late July, Kim Hyuna was pulled off from the group by her parents due to their concern over her health conditions. Kim Hyuna has contacted Chronic gastroenteritis which had her hospitalized briefly in March and april.

On 14 September 2007, the group had a car accident while returning from a performance at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology in Pusan. The van in which they were travelling rear-ended a taxi, killing the driver of the taxi and injuring nine others. The members only suffered minor injuries.

Wonder Girls continued to be a four-member group until Good Entertainment gave their trainee, Kim Yoo Bin to JYP as a replacement in early September. On 13 September 2007, the group released their first album " The Wonder Years," with their hit song "Tell Me" bringing alot of attention to the fans and listeners. Due to the last-minute addition of Kim Yoo Bin, the album version does not contain her contributions. However, the song was reworked for performances, adding a bridge with Kim's rap.

The song "Tell Me" topped the No.1 spot in most of the music charts in Korea for consecutive weeks and the simple dance moves also bring a craze video online. Some celebrities also performed this dance during fan meeting or on various Korean television programs. Due to the popularity of the single, the group extended their promotional schedule to crossover performances on music shows, variety show appearances, and special performances and programs for various year-end music special.


YEAR 2008
Wonder Girls continue to promote the album in January 2008 with the second single, "This Fool." However, the girls plan to cut back on their schedule to prepare for their college entrance examinations. Besides that, Wonder Girls will set to debut in the U.S in February 2008 with their mentor and producer Park Jin Young for his month-long "Bad Concert" as a special guest. Park Jin young plans the concert to be a showcase for his other proteges, such as Min, G-Soul and Kim Jeong Hee. Other famous stars like R.Kelly, Outkast and Will Smith are scheduled to attend the concert.

Big Bang!!

In year 2006, YG family formed a hip-hop & R&B group called Big Bang, comprising of five members, G-Dragon, Tae Yang, T.O.P, Dae Sung and Seung Ri. Originally, Big Bang consisted of six members, however, one was dropped in the ninth episode of their documentary video.

DEBUT,
YEAR 2006
Big Bang made their debut at the YG Family concert in 19 August 2006 held at Gymnastics Arena in Seoul Olympic Park.After that, Big Bang has released 3 singles and 1 album, bringing them closer to stardom. In 30 December 2006, Big Bang held their first concert titled, The Real. The concerts was a success filling all 12,000 seats. They also released a music video of their cover song from Israel "My Girl", with Tae Yang as the soloist, bringing much of the attention to him. The following month, their first album "BIGBANG VOL.1 Since 2007" was released, with a total of 110,408 copies sold.

BREAKTHROUGH SUCCESS
Year 2007On 8 February 2007, Big Bang released their live concert album entitled "1st Concert Live Album - The Real" selling over 26,787 copies. Thereafter, they also released their own fragrance, "BB Bud's My First Fragrance on 18 May 2007, selling over one million won after two weeks of its release. With their breakthrough success, Big Bang held their first national tour concert in Korea, titled, Want You from May to July touring a total of five cities, Incheon, Daegu, Changwon, Jeonju and Busan. The national tour concert was a major success as all tickets in each cities were sold out. On 19 August 2007, Big Bang released a mini-album entitled, "Always" with their cover song "Lie" topping the No. 1 spot for many consecutive weeks in most of the music programs in Korea. This song was wrote and composed by Big Bang leader, G-Dragon. This song was well-received and complimented by many listeners as a well-made and unique song. The song also win them the Song of the Year and Best Male Group in the 2007 MKMF Award.

YEAR 2008
Big Bang will enter Japan market in January with their first Japanese album to be release on 4 January 2008. Songs included in the album are: "V.I.P. (Intro)", "BIGBANG", "LALALA", "Lies", "A Fool's Only Tears", "Always", as well a new Japanese song, "How Gee". They will probably be the next big thing after Dong Bang Shin Ki.

G-Dragon is the leader of Big Bang. He was trained by the YG Family since he was 13 years old. During his training, he was under a group called GDYB which had alot of fans although they never released an album.Ji Yong has a great interest in fashion, saying that if he had not been a singer, he would went into fashion industry. Besides rapping and beat-boxing, he writes and produces many of Big Bang's songs. He also wrote the hit single "Lies", which has topped every online and offline charts in Korea for more than two months since the release.

Tae Yang

Real Name: Dong Young Bae
Birthdate: 20 May 1988

Position: Vocalist

Tae Yang was with G-Dragon in YG Entertainment since he was 13. He started out as a rapper but is now one of the vocalists of Big Bang. He is known for being scared of girls, and is the shy and sensitive one in the group. Tae Yang had his first kiss on the MV of the Israel cover song "My Girl". Currently, Tae Yang is working on his first solo album. Tae Yang will be the first one to release the solo album from Big Bang.

T.O.P

Real Name: Choi Seung Hyun
Birthdate: 4 November 1987
Education Background: Seoul Art College (Majoring in Musical)
Position: Rapper / Beat Boxer

T.O.P is consider the "Big Brother" of Big band. YG's staff calls him Keun Seung Hyun, meaning Big Seung Hyun, to distinguish between the two Big Bang members named Seung Hyun. Before joining Big Bang, he performed in clubs and even won KBS Radio's "Rap Battle" in 2003. Tempo is one of the two rappers in the Big Bang and is also very talented in beat-boxing. Recently, TOP has successfully finished filming his role as the school's top fighter in a Korean drama called, I Am Sam. His character's name in the drama was Chae Mu Shin and his talent as an actor has impressed the fans and the viewers as well.

Dae Sung

Real Name: Kang Dae Sung
Birthdate: 26 April 1989
Education Background: KyeongIn High School
Position: Vocalist

Kang Dae Sung, the "Smiling Angel", is a vocalist in Big Bang. Fans praise Dae Sung's humorous personality and astounding vocals and dedicate numerous websites to him. During the auditions, Dae Sung was called "Unpretty Boy", but later, the staff team confirmed that Daesung is actually the most popular member in Big Bang. Dae Sung has an obsession with "Doraemon", a Japanese animation. Dae Sung has been also been known as "Gag/Comedy Genius Dae Sung" with his great sense of humor and unique talent in imitating famous people and even animals.

Seung Ri

Former Stage Name : V & Victory
Real Name: Lee Seung Hyun
Birthdate: 12 December 1990
Position: Vocalist

Lee Seung Hyun, also known as "Seung Ri", is the "Little Brother" of Big Bang. His name when Big Bang debuted, was "V" which is derived from Victory. YG's staff calls him "Mag nae", which means "the youngest or baby in a family". Before joining Big Bang, Seung Ri was on "Battle Shinhwa", a show that was searching for the second Shinhwa. He was rejected in the 13th episode because his vocals failed to impress. However, the manager of YG recognized his talent and invited him to practice with the YG Family. Seung Ri's greatest talents are dancing and choreographing dance routines.
