SHinee......
Shinee, a contemporary group consists of a five members. They are Lee Jin Ki (Onew), Kim JongHyun, Kim Kibum (Key),Choi Minho and Lee Taemin. Their age ranges from 16 to 19 years old, one of the youngest group formed by SM Entertainment.
All the songs they have released were number one in most of the music charts. The song I like includes "Noona Neomu Yeppeo (Replay) and also their recent title song "Juliette". Shinee have also won many awards like "Best Style Icon Award", "Best Male Rookie Award", "Yepp Newcomer Award" and also "Best New Artist Award' in 2008. They are truly Shiny Shinee :)
My favourite member of the group would be Onew. I love his amazing voice and the smile on his face. His excellent singing techniques impressed me everytime I've seen his live performance. His voices blended so well in all kinds of genres.
Although, he is now 21 years old (korean usually add one year in their age), he was always the best leader and singer I have seen so far. Aza Aza fighting Onew :)
Let's enjoy the live solo performance by Onew.

My Favourite Idol : 2PM
Recently, I am impressed by the seven-member boy group from Korea, 2PM in which their live perfomance is so outstanding. They are under the same label record company as Wonder Girls which was managed by Park Jin-Young.
2PM members auditioned in Korea and other countries to become part of JYP Entertainment. All the members undergo rigorous training in dancing, acrobatics and singing.
2PM debuted with the song "10 out of 10" with a mixture of acrobatic and b-boy dance style. Their 2nd theme song "Only You" had also fared good results in the korea charts.
On 09 May 2009, soon after releasing their new title song "Again & Again". 2PM have finally won their their 1st Mutizen award on M!Countdown. After that, they won their 2nd Mutizen award on SBS Inkigayo and 3rd Mutizen award at Musicbank. This song have earned them credits in both fame and stardom.
On 02 July 2009, 2PM once again achieved 1st place on the M!Countdown and Musicbank with their 2nd promotional song "I Hate You". This song was now one of my favourites.
I like Nichkhun and Wooyoung among all the members as they are talented, cute and funny. Whenever both of them are together, they have chemistry within each other :)
Nichkhun Horvejkul (Isn't he cute :)

Cinderella Man
Recently, I was caught up by a Korean Drama, Cinderella Man starring Kwon Sang Woo, Im Yoon Ah, Han Eun Jung and Song Chang Ui. The drama is about a rich man (Lee Joon Hee) who switches lives with a man who looks identical to him (Oh Dae Sun). The difference between them is their personality and backgound. Oh Dae Sun is poor but happy-go-lucky whereas Lee Joon Hee is the heir to a fashion empire but has a heart problem and does not trust anyone since young. The story later discovered a series of underlying secrets and the hatred and love between the 4 main characters.
Below is the theme song of the drama.

Son Dambi Won her first-ever K-Chart at KBS Musicbank!

Son Dam Bi, a 25-year-old South Korean singer who debuted in 2007 with her first single "Cry Eye". This song has started to gain her exposure to the audience. After that, she has been training in the United States and also released a mini album with her title single "Bad Boy" in Korea.
In september 2008, she make a comeback with her single "Crazy" which become a crazed in korea. Her husky voice and powerful dancing appeals to many korean public. However, the song has never won her top spot in k-chart on any music shows.
In March 2009, Son Dam Bi released a new mini album called Type B - Back To The 80's. She make a comeback stage on Mnet M! Countdown on 26 March 2009 with her title song "Saturday Night" as well as "Snow is Falling". Just 2 weeks time, the song has eventually won her the first ever K-chart on KBS2TV Musicbank on 10 April 2009. She was absolutely overwhelmed by the results as it come as a surprise to her. Her emotion was uncontrollable and thus unable to convey her feeling properly.
Since then, the song "Saturday Night" has taken consecutive top spot in several television music program and her every performance was totally stunning.
The song has marked her singing career to a higher level of stardom. Somehow, she has given me an enlightment. "No matter what you do, try your 100% best". I believe that one day, our efforts will be paid off.
Her incredible performance by Son Dam Bi.

Chae Dong Ha (Forever SG Wannabe member)
I was quite upset when Chae Dong Ha has decided to leave SG Wannabe to pursue his individual career. I read in some forums which people comments on his decision to leave SG Wannabe. Some show their continuous support but some have said him as a selfish person who only thinks of himself. Whatever it is, I would always support him even though he is not part of SG Wannabe anymore.
On 24 Apr, SG Wannabe has released their 5th album titled "My Friend". In this album, you will get to hear the new member, Lee Suk Hoon voice. His voices is good and stands out only when he sings alone. As in some of the tracks when the threesome sings together, I can only hear Lee Seok Hoon voice and a bit of Jin Ho. Yong Jun voice was completely lost amidst the other vocals. There is somehow a lack of harmony in between them and this will need time to reach the standard as they used to be.
I still prefer the original SG Wannabe as all the members’ voices blended in spectacularly. SG wannabe is well-known of their powerful heart-moving vocals. In their previous songs, Dongha, Yong Jun and Jin Ho have displayed emotion in their singing styles which we can hear and feel it. Now, with the new member, we are losing that feel. On April 27, in SBS Inkigayo, Chae Dong Ha cried during SG Wanna Be’s performance of its new song “Bogoshipda” which marked his last stage with the group’s 2 other members, Kim Yong Jun and Kim Jin Ho. So Sad...

After listening to SG wannabe's 5th album, I am a bit disappointed as I feel Dongha can do so much better than Lee Seok Hoon. This album is only fairly-good compared to their previous works. "Bogoshipda", the 4th track of this album was the last works Dongha participated as part of SG Wannabe. This song was remade with Seok Hoon, and Dong Ha only gets to sing one of the last lines in the song. I listen to the original version and the remake version, I am sad that the original version sounds absolutely beautiful.
Although, the brother figure Chae Dong Ha has left the group, I believe his friendship with Yong Jun and Jin Ho will stay on forever :)
Lastly, I wish Dongha all the best in his future endeavours and will continue to support him. As for SG Wannabe, I will continue to support them especially Yong Jun and Jin Ho :)

New Singers to Watch for in 2008
Recently, there are many prominent new singers debuted in Korean music industry. These new singers will be the centre of attraction this year after Wonder Girls, Big Bang and Girls' Generation who have dominated the pop charts last year.
Let me specifically tell you the background of these new singers.

JOO - Young Woman 1st Single
Release Date: Jan.18 2008
Record Label: JYP Entertainment
Genre: Ballad
Through a SBS talent show in 2006, Joo was discovered by Park Jin Young, the manager of JYP Entertainment. After three-years of training, this 16-year-old singer debuted with her first single album "Young Woman" on Jan, 18. Her title song, Namja Ddehmooneh ("Because of a Man") was written and composed by Park Jin Young which topped the fourth place in 2 weeks.
However, Joo was soon targeted by the so-called “anti-fans,” who blasted her not so exemplary past showing her playing pool, wearing skimpy clothes, and even drinking and smoking with her friends during her middle school years. Apparently, her looks changed drastically from her present, strongly suggesting that she had plastic surgery.
Joo’s management company immediately went into damage control, explaining that she was too young and curious to know any better at that age and she has never touched alcohol or cigarettes once she started training with the JYP Entertainment. Because of these pictures, Netizens are now torn between supporting and criticizing the new singer.

Not only that, the title song for this album Miwuhdo Saranghanikka ("Love You Even Though I Hate You") was well-received by the listeners. The music video of this song starring Lee Mi Yeon and Lee Hyo Lee whose provocative image transformation shocked many K-pop fans. "The Wonder Begins"
Wonder Girls is a newly-formed Korean girl group produced by well-known singer-songwriter, Park Jin Young. The group is signed to his talent agency, JYP Entertainment.
DEBUT, YEAR 2007
The members of Wonder Girls were selected through auditions and Park Ye Eun was the last member to be added.
The group debuted on 11 February 2007 at the M! Countdown, performing the hip-hop song "Irony", which was from their debut mini-album, The Wonder Begins. Throughout 2007, the group has experienced various health problems.
On 25 June, member Ahn So Hee was sidelined for a month after tearing a knee ligament during the filming of "Some Like It Hot" when she fall off from a motorcycle. In late July, Kim Hyuna was pulled off from the group by her parents due to their concern over her health conditions. Kim Hyuna has contacted Chronic gastroenteritis which had her hospitalized briefly in March and april.
On 14 September 2007, the group had a car accident while returning from a performance at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology in Pusan. The van in which they were travelling rear-ended a taxi, killing the driver of the taxi and injuring nine others. The members only suffered minor injuries.
Wonder Girls continued to be a four-member group until Good Entertainment gave their trainee, Kim Yoo Bin to JYP as a replacement in early September. On 13 September 2007, the group released their first album " The Wonder Years," with their hit song "Tell Me" bringing alot of attention to the fans and listeners. Due to the last-minute addition of Kim Yoo Bin, the album version does not contain her contributions. However, the song was reworked for performances, adding a bridge with Kim's rap.
The song "Tell Me" topped the No.1 spot in most of the music charts in Korea for consecutive weeks and the simple dance moves also bring a craze video online. Some celebrities also performed this dance during fan meeting or on various Korean television programs. Due to the popularity of the single, the group extended their promotional schedule to crossover performances on music shows, variety show appearances, and special performances and programs for various year-end music special.
YEAR 2008
Wonder Girls continue to promote the album in January 2008 with the second single, "This Fool." However, the girls plan to cut back on their schedule to prepare for their college entrance examinations. Besides that, Wonder Girls will set to debut in the U.S in February 2008 with their mentor and producer Park Jin Young for his month-long "Bad Concert" as a special guest. Park Jin young plans the concert to be a showcase for his other proteges, such as Min, G-Soul and Kim Jeong Hee. Other famous stars like R.Kelly, Outkast and Will Smith are scheduled to attend the concert.

The thirteen members are Lee Tuek (Leader), Hee Chul, Han Kyung, Ye Sung, Kang In, Shin Dong, Sung Min, Eun Hyuk, Dong Hae, Si Won, Ryeo Wook, Ki Bum and Kyu Hyun. The only chinese member, Han Kyung joined the group after he was chosen from the audition among 3,000 applicants by SM Entertainment in 2001. In such, the group with twelve members launched their first single, "Twins(Knock Out)" and also performed as a group on SBS Inkigayo on 6 November 2005. Thereafter, a complete album, Super Junior05 (Twins) was released on 7 December 2005 with hit songs " Twins (Knock Out)" and "You Are The One". Their first album sold more than 83,000 copies becoming one of the third highest best-selling album in December 2005. An Official fanclub was created for the group as E.L.F (Everlasting Friends) and an official color, Sapphire blue was chosen to represent Super Junior 05 by the Korean fans. To further publicize the group, Super Junior 05 collaborated with their fellow senior labelmates, Dong Bang Shin Ki and released a Christmas single together titled " Show Me Your Love". Both the groups performed together to promote their single in some of the music shows.
In year 2006, Super Junior 05 moved on to their second single "Miracle", a light bubblegum-flavoured song which peak at No. 1 on different music charts in South Korea as well as Asia countries. When promotions for the single slowly come to an end, SM Entertainment announced to the public that Super Junior 05 was not intended to be a permanent group but a rotational project group so as to create popularity and experiences for each member in order to achieve success easily in the entertainment industry. The recording company revealed that some members would either stay or leave the group to pursue on solo activities. New members would probably joined in to replace the members who leave the group while some would be rotated. This caused outrageous reaction from the fans who wanted Super Junior 05 to remain together as a group.
On 23 May 2006, SM Entertainment announced the addition of a new member Kyu Hyun, the youngest member of the group. The group's second full-length album was marked to be release on November 2006 but was postponed due to a serious incident on 19 April 2007 at about 12.20am (Korean time) where 4 members of Super Junior, Lee Tuek, Shin Dong, Eun Hyuk and Kyu Hyun and two managers were injured in a car crash. The driver lost control of the vehicle as the van flipped over on its right side.
